North Hobart

With great access to public transport, you’ll have a speedy commute to the University of Tasmania campuses, and can easily explore the rest of Hobart. Rent is likely to cost you $200 per week in a share house, or $370 per week for your own one-bedroom apartment.

West Hobart

With its cute cottages and tree-lined streets, West Hobart provides a peaceful retreat for students. The suburb offers stunning views of the city and Mount Wellington, along with easy access to the North Hobart dining precinct. 

You’ll feel close enough to the city centre to be convenient, yet far enough away for easy access to Tasmania’s natural beauty. If you’re looking for a room in a share house, rent is likely to cost around $200 per week, and a one-bedroom apartment may cost around $370 per week.

Battery Point

Historic buildings and winding laneways full of antique shops and bookstores characterise Battery Point, a waterfront suburb adjoining the city centre. The University of Tasmania campus is easily accessible, while the Salamanca Market is just around the corner on weekends.
